Veterinary Surgeon – Worcestershire

Bay Tree Vets is an independent, vet-owned, small animal practice based in the heart of Stourport-on-Severn. Taking over the practice in 2019, our lead vet Laura set out to provide excellent care to our patients and clients whilst also providing a rewarding and collaborative environment where our team get to enjoy coming to work in a modern and relaxed culture. We are looking for a vet with some experience, to join our close-knit, friendly team of 2.5 vets, 4 RVNs, 1 ANA and 3 receptionists, who will genuinely support you both professionally and personally whilst still finding time to have a bit of fun. Whether you’re looking to increase your skills or wanting to take on a certificate, our team have a range of experience and interests and will offer you plenty of support. Laura, who has more than 14 years’ experience in practice and has completed her dermatology certificate, will be happy to share her knowledge and expertise. We are also signed up to VetCT, which has been a great resource for those tricky cases. The practice is newly refurbished, with air-conditioning in all of our rooms and with a wide range of upgraded modern equipment including doppler ultrasound, DR digital x-ray, bronchoscopy, Tono pen, in house lab, and therapeutic laser. Plus, we’re always open to new equipment requests to allow you to pursue your interests. Our full-time vets work a 4-day week with 1:4 Saturday mornings (9am to 1pm) and no OOHs or on-call. We can be flexible and are more than happy to discuss a rota to work around existing commitments or if you are looking for part-time hours. We have a skilled team of RVNs and receptionists to support you. The RVNs run a wide range of consults including therapeutic laser and cryotherapy, ensuring that you can concentrate on what you do best. We know how important work-life balance is, so we arrange our schedule to make sure that you leave on time, with consults finishing at least half an hour before we close and blocks of protected time secured throughout the day for catching-up on paperwork, reporting results etc. We have a separate break room for downtime and an outdoor lunch area for when the sun is shining, which means we can get a tan while we enjoy our ‘birthday pizza’ lunches. We love working together and socialise outside of work too, during the summer you will find us enjoying the food, drink and games at our Summer party. Stourport is a lively Georgian town on the River Severn in Worcestershire, with a vibrant shopping area, many independent cafes, restaurants and pubs and lots of attractions and activities available on or by the water in the beautiful surrounding Severn Valley. There is plenty to do, you can spend your free time exploring the local area, hiking or cycling in the countryside or visiting the nearby cities of Worcester and Birmingham.
