Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Vet to join our friendly team in Plymouth. This is a Day Vet role where there is an opportunity to take on a varied caseload to suit your interests, whether this is medical or surgical, working in sole charge as well as within the wider team. Plymouth Veterinary Group is a first-opinion multi-site practice with a flagship Hospital and 4 branch surgeries serving all areas of Plymouth. The Hospital is 24/7 365 days per year providing an out-of-hours service for other feeder practices within the area. The practice is well equipped with Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopy, and other diagnostic equipment enabling most first opinion cases to be treated in-house as well as accepting referrals for exotics. Our vets work up to 40 hours across a maximum of 4 days per week with a share of Saturdays or full weekends with breaks built into the rota throughout the day to allow time for callbacks and the follow-up of cases. The salary for this role is up to £65,000 depending on experience. Plymouth is Britain’s Ocean City and presents excellent opportunities for land and water-based activities as well as a vibrant cultural scene, with good access to the Southwest or Europe. There are not many better cities in which to live and work so if you are looking to relocate, we can offer you full support with this too. Our Vets are supported by a team of registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses, animal nursing assistants and reception and admin staff as well as a dedicated overnight clinical team for our Out of Hours Service. We are looking for someone with a real passion for small animal work who can carry out routine surgeries, client consultations and work up cases with the full support of the wider team who hold certificates in Exotics and Surgery and others who are working towards dentistry, imaging and medicine where required.
