Full Job Description

The Role

Bishop, Hendry & Edwards Vets have an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon. We understand the pressures and importance of a healthy work life balance and recognising this is different for everyone, is one of the reasons why we aren’t stipulating required hours and shifts of work. You won’t be required to work any out of hours as we have a dedicated emergency service provider only 20 minutes away. We welcome a discussion on what working hours might suit you and us. A Happy, Energised Team = Excellent Patient and Client Care.

About us

We are a progressive veterinary clinic with a strong community presence, always aiming to provide the very best of team, client and patient care. We have a great case load exposing you from the most routine of cases whilst also giving you the opportunity to work more complex cases up in our well-equipped, fully refurbished practice.

The Team

We are a multi vet team, 1 with a certificate in Dermatology. Our practice would suit somebody who might just be starting out in their vet career or somebody looking for that next exciting move and want to continue or start studying towards a certificate themselves. Our vets are supported by our superb clinical and support team. We are based in the lovely market town of Newport, Shropshire, in the heart of plentiful countryside and only a short drive from Telford, Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton. So many beautiful walks on our doorstop and lots of quirky bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the practice. Our practice has all the usual toys you should expect including digital x-ray, ultrasound, extensive lab suite & dental. We have dedicated theatre, imaging, and dental suites with separate patients’ wards. We are proud to be RCVS accredited and to have been awarded Cat Friendly Clinic – Silver. We will offer a welcome bonus of up to 2k, relocation allowance of up to 5k for the right person and sponsorship if required.

Because our employee’s matter

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do.

In addition to a salary up to £63,000 depending on experience, you will benefit from:
