Your role and responsibilities Looking to take your first steps in a veterinary practice or looking to gain further experience? We are looking for Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to complement the weekend team at Village Vet Winchmore Hill located in the London borough of Enfield, within walking distance of Winchmore Hill Overground. Our PCAs play a vital role in supporting various patients, making this practice a rewarding workplace and a great place to learn. We currently seeking an enthusiastic animal lover to be part of our current Patient Care Assistant team, working enthusiastically to help maintain a happy, efficient, and effective working environment. Our Patient Care Assistants undertake a variety of duties as directed by the Veterinary Surgeons and/or Registered Veterinary Nurses and duties or responsibilities may include:
  • Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures, and taking payments
  • Infection control
  • Preparing and maintaining patient accommodation
  • Assisting with patient handling and restraint
  • Monitoring, recording, and providing supportive care to patients under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Assisting with diagnostic techniques, including the preparation of equipment, processing and/or packaging for external laboratories
  • Maintenance of theatre to include preparation of the environment and equipment and cleaning, packaging, and sterilization of sterile supplies
  • Assist with the management of the pharmacy, including unpacking of orders, stock rotation, and environmental temperatures.
Previous experience is advantageous but training and support for the role will be provided. Hours: 10hrs/week Saturday and every other Sunday. Benefits
