Optical Assistant ( Trainee) We are looking for Customer focused recruits to join our busy yet friendly stores in the following locations:
  • Crawley
  • Horsham
  • Horley

Salary £18,000 – £22,500 p.a ( inc Bonuses ) Full time (Weekend work is essential) Have you ever considered a career in optics, are you passionate about retail and offering the best customer service? We are looking for Optical Advisors to join our stores. We need someone who thrives on customer service and can find solutions and manage our customers, appointments, concerns and possibly complaints with a smile and can-do attitude. We offer training in a variety of forms and you need to be willing to learn and take in lots of imformation, different system and processes form a variety of sources. Main Responsibilities ( learnt and undertaken in the first 3-6 months of training)
  • Meet and greet all our customers and arrive them on our system
  • Undertake pre tests using the state of the art equipment to photograph the eye and test pressures
  • Make sure customers are aware of the in store journey and explain the process to them
  • Take hand overs from our Opticians and assit the customers in choosing frames suited to their needs and preferences and our best available product.
  • Offer our products confidently and with the fiull knowledge of our range and prices
  • Undertake basic repairs and adjustments to frames
  • Use the till
  • Book appointments in the diary
  • Understand our contact lens offers and appointments
  • Understand and book appointment for Hearcare
  • Understand NHS vouchers and apply correctly in the system
Other duties for experienced Optical Assistants ( usually learnt once probation has been passed and roles are available)
  • Undertake the dispense of glassess which includes measuring and ensuring the right framess and lenses are ordered and fit the customer needs
  • Manage customer concerns and queries by phone or in store
  • Merchandise the frames and products in store
  • Undertake contact lens teaches and ordering
  • Learn basic tasks to assit the Lab in ordering and sorting orders
  • Ordering of frames and products
