As an NHS Audiology Service, we represent the best of NHS hearing services. We are currently looking for two Trainee Hearing Aid Audiologists to join our team on a full-time basis, completing our 17 month apprenticeship as part of a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology. This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious and hard-working individuals to take their next step towards a career in audiology with this comprehensive training programme. Your time will be split between studying towards a South Devon College accredited qualification and on-the-job practical learning and development. On successful graduation of the Foundation Degree, alongside successful completion of the training, you will secure a Band 4 role within Chime as a Hearing Aid Audiologist. The Role As a Trainee Hearing Aid Audiologist, you will have the chance to earn while you learn, developing new skills and knowledge through experiential and practical learning and working toward your foundation degree. You will learn how to test and assess hearing and provide a range of hearing healthcare services to a wide range of ages. About You To join us as a Trainee Hearing Aid Audiologist, you will need:

  • A willingness to learn and apply new skills
  • The willingness to develop good IT and administrative skills
  • A minimum of GCSE English and Maths at grade 4-9 (C – A*)
Individuals with an interest in biological sciences, psychology, physics and electronics, as well as speech and language development, may find that audiology has a lot to offer them. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week over four days. The hours are between 8am and 6pm, flexibly across Monday to Saturday. The role will involve travel to a number of sites in which we offer our services and to South Devon College and will involve regularly working autonomously on completion of your training. Please note, this trainee role has no age restriction and we are open to hearing from candidates at any stage in their career.
