Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BDS or Equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Full registration with the GDC
  • MFDS, MJDF or equivalent
  • Registered on Specialist list in Paediatric Dentistry

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in Paediatric dentistry
  • Experience and sedation techniques
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of clinical teaching, particularly at postgraduate and specialist levels.
  • Experience of clinical teaching

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate good communication skills with patients and others involved in patient care.
  • Use of evidence based practice; can demonstrate thorough knowledge of the relevant literature.
Desirable criteria
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of clinical audit clinical governance; undertaken clinical audit projects previously
  • Knowledge at Masters’ degree level or under specialist postgraduate training in Paediatrics
  • Research in related field
  • Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Communicate effectively with a range of staff group
  • Communicate in an empathetic and comprehensible way to patient
