Specialist Pharmacist, Surgery

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to improving our ward based clinical pharmacy services. In this key post you will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary team and be responsible for providing a high quality clinical pharmacy service to the surgical directorate. As an enthusiastic and patient oriented pharmacist, you will combine expert opinion and expert practice at the bedside to benefit patient care, and work at the forefront within the multidisciplinary team to help us implement, deliver and continually improve medicines management. Overall you will be responsible for optimising medicines prescribed on admission, making timely pharmaceutical interventions and facilitating rapid discharge. This is a senior position within the clinical pharmacy services team. You will support the Clinical Services Lead with audits and projects to improve services, provide training within Pharmacy and the wider multidisciplinary team, and manage rotational pharmacists in the clinical team. This position offers the opportunity to build on your management experience and specialist knowledge and experience within Surgery. You will need excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and to enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You must have post-registration experience relevant to hospital pharmacy and hold a Post Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
