There is a new dawn in veterinary care in Lincolnshire; be part of something special from day one. Come and join us as we open the doors to our new state of the art, purpose-built small animal practice in Spalding. We appreciate that the demand for veterinary care has increased exponentially over the last few years so we are looking to introduce a new approach in our practice that will be sustainable for the future. The practice is designed to deliver not only the highest clinical standards but also a very different client journey, which will allow vets and nurses to concentrate on what they enjoy the most, their clinical work.   Amine, the main vet, has 25 years of veterinary experience and has been running a successful referral business providing surgical services in the area for several years. He has now decided to put down roots and set up his own purpose-built practice. He is passionate about orthopaedics, neurology and soft tissue surgery and will continue to take local referrals at the new practice. He is an experienced teacher and mentor and enjoys passing on his knowledge. He’s really keen for anyone working with him to progress and have great job satisfaction and will be very happy for you to get involved with the more complex surgeries and cases. Why did Amine decide to set up his new practice as a joint venture partner with Vets4pets? It’s really simple, he felt that the team listened to him, and that they shared his vision of a state-of-the-art practice where things are done a little differently. He will be using a new practice model which allows him to use advances in technology, enhanced practice design and team structure to allow his clinical team to focus on what they are qualified to do and enjoy the most. One of the new ways of working will be the creation of a new non-clinical role called a Pet Health Advisor (PHA). The PHA will be fully trained, and they will have responsibility for supporting clients through their entire visit. They will accompany clients through the consultation with the vet or nurse, providing an overview of the information gathered which will reduce the time the clinician is needed in the consulting room. The introduction of this new role will allow the vet to focus on the most rewarding and important part of their work whilst the client is still informed about important information and the services available. Dr Maliha Chowdhury BVSc MRCVS CertAVP has just started to use PHA’s in her clinic and feels that they have been a great addition to the team, “Initially I had pre-conceptions about how the integration of a Pet Health Advisor (PHA) into first and second vaccination consults would save time. I have gladly discovered however that the addition of pre, intra and post-consult support from PHAs has greatly freed up time for us as clinicians to focus on the more clinical aspects of these preventative health consults. I have personally enjoyed this style of consulting as I feel that we are closer as a team partly thanks to the integration of roles and removing the sense of ‘front of house’ and ‘back of house’.”   The practice has been designed to offer a modern, stylish look and feel, as well as an improved layout that optimises workflow. We will be using technology to help things run smoothly, ranging from the self-service ‘check-in’ (no more queuing clients at reception desk) to tablet style laptops, video microscopy, and ‘firefly’ otoscopes allowing the client to see what you see making communication so much easier. The practice will also be kitted out with digital & dental x-ray, ultrasound with cardiac probes, in-house laboratory, capnograph, 2 theatres (one for orthopaedic/ major surgery cases and one for routine surgery) plus Amine will bring his own extensive orthopaedic kit, endoscopes, and laparoscopic equipment. We are looking for a vet with some experience to help Amine when the practice opens. As we are at the beginning of our journey, we are flexible with the rota and are happy to offer full or part time hours, with no OOH required.
