Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Zack, one of our lovely vets is moving into a teaching role, so we are looking for a small animal vet to join our team. Riverside Vets is a proudly independent small animal and equine practice established since 1976. The clinical team consisting of 8 vets (5 small animal, 2 equine and 1 mix of both), 6 RVN’s and 6 student nurses provide a wealth of support for a vet with experience looking to increase their skills and pursue their interests, or a new graduate starting in your career. We have helped develop many ­vets from graduation into confident, skilled veterinary surgeons over the last 4 decades.   The vet team: Charles – Director – founded the practice. ‘The semi-retired one’ Bridget – Director – came to us a new graduate over 20 years ago. GP Certificate in Feline Practice. Evolved to the leader of the small animal team. ‘The Wise one’ Gemma – Director – came to us over 15 years ago. Leads the equine side. ‘The Wellbeing one’ Jess – 3 years since graduation and joined us on the BVA grad scheme following her EMS. ‘The dry Witty one’ Tatyana –  Graduated 4 years ago and has been with us 2 years. ‘The cool Calm one’ Ana – First joined us 2.5 years ago from Spain on the BVA grad scheme and has recently returned to us after doing an internship for 12 months at a local referral centre. She is now doing a diagnostic imaging certificate with us. ‘The Smiley one’ Jenny – 1 year since graduation. Joined the equine crew following EMS. ‘The Thoughtful one’   Our vision is to continually strengthen the profession maintaining our healthy culture. We also have big plans to expand, with new premises on the horizon in addition to our existing site to house our new small animal and equine hospital, and we would love you to join our team. Bishopstoke, Eastleigh is a great place to live with excellent transport links, whether plane, train or automobile. London is just over an hour away. We are lucky to have the best of the UK weather here, which can be enjoyed in the New Forest on the South Downs with beautiful countryside walks. Riverside is ideally situated with everything on our doorstep. There is always something to do for everyone.

• 4-day week
• We provide our own out-of-hours, 1:4 weekend
• 1:5 Saturdays (9-4pm) with a 3-day week following Saturday worked
• 9am – 5pm, 9am – 7pm, 11am – 7pm
• We are also looking for an additional vet, which will further improve the rota
• A part-time position is also ok. Let us know your requirements
• We will feed you Wednesday lunchtimes whilst the Practice is closed between 12.30pm to 2pm. Gives us opportunity to chill, chat or CPD

• A FTE salary of £35,000 for a new grad up to £70,000 depending on experience
