Overview: Our multidisciplinary referral hospital is currently taking applications for an ECVIM-CA residency position in veterinary oncology. Pride Veterinary Centre strives to deliver world class patient care. The facilities include 13 consultation rooms, 8 hospital wards (including dedicated intensive care unit and isolation unit), 5 theatres, an endoscopy suite, and an extensive advanced imaging suite (comprising digital radiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI) with interventional radiology capability. We have a dedicated chemotherapy treatment room and a rehabilitation unit (with hydrotherapy pool and treadmills) are also available. Our hospital works in conjunction with the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary medicine, offering opportunities for collaborative work and teaching of the final year student during their clinical rotations. We also work alongside a Vets@Night service, and benefit from a dedicated leadership structure and extensive on-site support teams including Customer Care and HR. Pride Veterinary Centre is set in the heart of the prize-winning Pride Park development which boasts a plethora of modern sporting arenas and commercial enterprises. Further afield, the foothills of the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District offer idyllic surroundings for outdoor activities, whilst having the urban benefits of both Derby and Nottingham cities on the doorstep and an international airport close by. The Team: The successful candidate will join our established team comprising an ECVIM-CA Diplomate, Oncology Intern and two Oncology Nurses. Our oncology team works closely alongside our internal medicine team comprising four ECVIM-CA & ACVIM Internal Medicine Diplomates and four ECVIM-CA residents. We are lucky to have a highly motivated and collaborative surgery team, comprising four Diplomates plus one residency-trained clinician and three residents. We operate within a purpose built, state of the art referral hospital in Derby, with on-site specialists in anaesthesia, radiology, neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology and exotics. Our hospital is a supportive and collaborative working environment and the successful candidate can look forward to working within a friendly and sociable community of residents and interns. Pride Veterinary Centre delivers multi-disciplinary, specialist-led care, facilitating close inter-departmental collaboration to provide the best possible outcome for all patients. Our internal medicine team enjoys a close relationship with our other Diplomate-led services including oncology, cardiology, neurology, surgery, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging and anaesthesia. The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, fast-learning and inquisitive clinician with a passion for clinical work, clinical research and teaching. Our residency program offers the benefits of a busy referral hospital with a varied case load, while also providing ample off-clinics time for externships, research, study-leave and holiday.
