Senior Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Advice
Full Job Description
Our Medicines Information and Advice Service (MIAS) serves Health Care Professionals and Citizens from across north Wales via our medicines helpline. We are looking for a specialist Pharmacy Technician to join our team to answer medicines related enquiries as per UKMi standards.
The team has an operational base within the pharmacy departments at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Glan Clwyd and Wrexham Maelor. The base for this post will take into account preferences of the successful applicant.
Ideally applicants will be accredited as a UKMI technician although appropriate training will be given with attendance to the National Medicines Information Training Course if not. You will also be supported and encouraged to attend Welsh Medicines Information Operational Group meetings and the annual UKMI Practice Development Seminar.
Achieve and maintain accreditation as part of the UKMi Accredited Medicines Information Technicians Training Scheme (AMITTS).
Retrieve and analyse information from a variety of resources to provide practical advice, contributing to the care of patients across north Wales.
Undertake telephone clinical assessment for people with a wide range of conditions accessing the service
Act as a mentor for student technicians and trainee pharmacists undertaking a formal training scheme.
Contribute to the drug library management for the injectable medicines ‘smart pumps’ used across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
