Senior pharmacist – Ophthalmology

Owing to maternity leave, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at The Royal Wolverhampton Trust as the lead clinical pharmacist for ophthalmology. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the well-established ophthalmology teams, supporting clinical excellence and operational efficiencies. We are looking for a dynamic and committed pharmacist with excellent clinical, communication and leadership skills to lead and manage the delivery of a highly specialised service for our ophthalmology patients. The Ophthalmology department runs a wide array of specialist clinics such as diabetic, vitreoretinal, macular/PDT, ultrasound, retinopathy of prematurity, cornea and external diseases, electrodiagnostic, oculoplastic, glaucoma, paediatric ophthalmology & strabismus. We also operate outpatient clinics and elective eye theatres at Cannock hospital. The post holder will be joining and working in a progressive pharmacy department with over 200 staff, which delivers near patient ward pharmacy services, has automated dispensing, electronic medicines management and has implemented electronic prescribing across the majority of the organisation.
