An exciting opportunity has arisen for a flexible and committed qualified Pharmacist to join our clinical services team at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. You can expect to work across our Chelsea and Sutton hospital sites, gaining experience in various aspects of the service. You will be working as part of a team of clinical pharmacists and technicians providing patient focused services across the Trust. This will include experience in aseptic services, inpatient wards and clinical trials. The successful applicant will be encouraged and supported to undertake a post graduate pharmacy qualification. Pharmacy is in a transitional period and moving over to a 7 day service. Clinical Pharmacy a) To provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, contributing to the multidisciplinary team for clinical units as required, through ward pharmacy services. b) Promote optimal and appropriate drug use and high quality prescribing practice within the Trust c) To attend all relevant events such as Registrar/Consultant rounds/unit meetings as appropriate. d) To respond appropriately to requests from medical and nursing staff for information and advice about the selection and use of drug therapy. e) Actively participate in audit, drug use reviews and pharmacoeconomic project work f) Participate in any pharmacy initiatives or working groups as appropriate g) To support the Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager with the Clinical Governance and Risk Management Strategy within the department and throughout the Trus Aseptic Services a) To assist the Aseptic Services Manager in the day to day management and provision of the cytotoxic reconstitution and aseptic services (including gene therapy). b) Ensure appropriate working conditions are maintained and that the relevant principles of Good Manufacturing and Dispensing Practice, and those of the Health and Safety at Work Act are applied at all times c) Ensure all professional aspects of technical services are incorporated into the chemotherapy and aseptic services procedure manuals and other aseptic services documentation.
