An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join RM Medicines and work as a Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be integral to providing leadership and direction to the pharmacy team with an aim of providing a high-quality outpatient pharmacy service to patients at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Individuals recruited to the RM Medicines team will be supported to provide expert care to oncology patients and will benefit from training and the learning experiences of working closely with an institute providing outstanding, leading‑edge treatment to cancer patients. Together with the Royal Marsden Team, the pharmacy team at RM Medicines will review existing processes for medicines supply to continually ensure the patient has the best experience. RM Medicines operates from two centres, in Chelsea and Sutton. We are looking for 1 x full time Pharmacist to be based on the Chelsea site. The candidate must be a registered Pharmacist with UK pharmacy experience. Those awaiting registration will be considered.
  • To support and work as part of a team to provide a high quality Outpatient Pharmacy service to patients and users by maintaining a high standard of professionalism and safety in accordance with legislation, General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) legislation, applicable Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Professional standards and recognised good practice.
  • To undertake the professional, legal and clinical responsibilities of a pharmacist including: validating, clinically screening, dispensing and final checking of prescriptions and to provide patient counselling and advice to service users.
  • To be the responsible Pharmacist as per GPhC regulations when required.

  • To screen, dispense and check prescriptions in accordance with local and national policies, procedures and guidelines, in particular referring any prescribing queries appropriately for confirmation or revision.
  • To ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to, valid and kept up to date to ensure an effective Pharmacy Outpatient Service.
  • To assist in the implementation of clinical policies, procedures and prescribing guidelines under the supervision of the Store Manager
  • To help maintain stock in accordance with legislation and good practice, including rotation of stock and security.
  • To be aware of particular nature of ordering, storage and supply of high cost drugs.
  • To maintain regular communication with the procurement team to ensure effective stock management to meet patient needs and to prevent wastage of medicines.
