Remote Consults Veterinary Surgeon

Full Job Description

Saving Pets, Changing Lives Our Remote Consult Vet role is reflective of the innovation experienced during lockdown when looking at different, more flexible ways to deliver essential services to those pets and people most in need. The role is 100% home based (no need to reside near a PDSA Pet Hospital) with flexible patterns of working and all equipment and training will be provided to set you up for success. Our Pet Hospitals we are currently working in line with the RCVS Recovery Guidance, prioritising cases based on clinical need and carrying out remote consultations where appropriate; this does include remote prescribing where there is no suitable alternative in line with the temporary dispensation that is currently in place. Remote consultations have shown to provide benefits to our patients, clients and colleagues at PDSA and therefore when the temporary dispensation to remotely prescribe ends, we are confident that we will continue to manage a large number of the cases already under our care remotely and within RCVS guidelines. We have strong clinical governance in place in this area and continually monitor the outcomes of our remote consultations. Why join the team at PDSA? John Faulkner, Principal of Regional Vet Services, explains why we are different; “We are passionate about what we do and supporting our pet hospital teams during the pandemic is our top priority as a senior team. Safety and wellbeing are critical to us and we are doing everything we can to keep clients and colleagues safe and workload manageable in these challenging times. We’ve had to find new ways of working and our vets are still managing a varied diagnostic and surgical caseload, carrying out consults at the Pet Hospital and remotely from home. We are different because we are the only emergency service for people and pets in need. Get in touch and find out what it’s like to make a difference every day.” Additional benefits for this role includes;
  • Allocated CPD funding
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Contributory Pension Scheme
  • Life assurance
  • RCVS fees paid in full
