Now in our 90
th Year, 608 Vet Practice offers primary care services for small animals and exotic pets in the locations of Solihull, Acocks Green and Bentley Health.
The Solihull surgery offers 24/7 care with an in-house team, which enables us to provide continuity and treatment when it’s needed most. Four of the vet team are working towards certificates and there is well over 150 years of experience amongst the vet team as a whole.

- 24-hour emergency care for practice patients and other pets in need
- Echo scans
- Extensive internal laboratory led by an NHS trained Laboratory Manager
- Exotic care for all species (Two Vets working towards exotic certificates with one having extensive current zoo experience)
- Selective cat only clinics.
We are a fifteen-vet small animal practice, including a separate team that provides on-site emergency care for us and local practices within the Solihull and surrounding areas.We have a full range of diagnostic equipment including doppler ultrasound, CR, ASIF and external fixation, endoscopes, tonovet pen, slit lamp, multi-parameter monitors, an in-house laboratory with an experienced technician and lots of caring Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN) to provide a high standard of diagnosis, treatments and hospitalisation for our patients 24 hours a day.
We encourage the advancement of our team and have recently introduced Nurse Team Leader roles with opportunities for individual progression. We encourage learning and are happy to support certificates. There are also extensive in-house training videos from our specialist teams across the group. One of our nurses has gained her Small Animal Certificate and another is working towards a Surgical Certificate.
Your role and responsiblities
Our dedicated team; many of whom have been with us for a considerable number of years, is looking to welcome an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to the team.
We are offering a 4 day week with a 1:4 weekend rota. We are open to discussing flexible options so if you are looking for something out of the norm in regards to hours, please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss options!
Occasional travel between the hospital and branches would be required to support in covering sickness/holidays etc.
We are offering a
salary range of £26,000 – £29,000 per annum,negotiable dependent on experience.
Our hospital-based in Solihull is equipped with, four consult rooms, and two dental theatres and we offer a wide variety of services including:
- Endoscopy
- Ultrasound
- Multi-parameter
- Dental equipment
- In-house state-of-the-art laboratory suite.
Our team see a wide variety of cases including a strong number of exotics and we are passionate about providing our clients with the best care for their pets possible. You will be working in collaboration with 2 Vets and 3 – 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), Student Veterinary Nurses (SVN) and Patient Care Assistants (PCA).
We champion full nurse utilisation including schedule 3 is highly encouraged and supported.
We are proud to provide our own out of hours (OOH) care at our Solihull hospital with our dedicated out of hours team, on-site throughout the night. With 3 Clinical Coaches in the team at any one time, we are passionate about developing nurses and take on 3-4 student nurses a year.
