Regional Business Manager (Pharmacy)

The role of Business Manager is a newly created position, within the pharmacy programme senior management team, and will provide the business management leadership for the Pharmacy Programmes in the Midlands. The role is pivotal in a newly formed pharmacy programme structure across the Midlands, to ensure high quality provision to pharmacy professionals both now and in the future. The post holder will be based in the Pharmacy Programme Team, reporting to the Head of School and working with the Pharmacy Dean and associated leads for foundation pharmacy, Post registration pharmacy and pharmacy technician programmes of work. The post holder will be highly visible and work collaboratively within the regional footprint, alongside stakeholders, which include Universities, employers, NHSE/I and regulatory bodies such as the GPhC. This role works across the Midlands region, supporting the Regional Pharmacy Programme team, reporting to the Head of School (Pharmacy) to ensure high quality delivery of operational goals, governance and programme activity and overall effective functioning of the pharmacy programme business agenda. The role will:
  • Ensure delivery of region wide and/or national programmes using robust project management and by building strong relationships with those involved in the activities.
  • Lead national/regional work streams, produce high quality reports, and take action to mitigate any risks to delivery.
  • Provide oversight of the secretariat function to the Senior Pharmacy Programme Team, and lead all business management functions, attending senior pharmacy programme team meetings and ensuring agreed action is progressed and delivered.
  • Take responsibility for all correspondence received including electronic, ensure required action is taken or responses collated within required timescales and to a consistently high standard.
  • Work with Finance, Quality and Commissioning, Regional Business Team, Communications, Corporate Governance, and Human Resources enabling functions to ensure effective processes and compelling communication activity is in place across the region
  • Identify and develop local and regional stakeholder relationships to support delivery of objectives
  • Act autonomously with authority, dealing with sensitive and confidential information

Salary Progression Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8b with a full-time starting salary of £56,164, with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service. These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
