Pre Reg Trainee Pharmacy Technician (Apprenticeship)
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals interested in working in a healthcare setting, with a great opportunity to earn whilst you train.
With a fully funded 2 year apprenticeship 1 day a week study and 4 days’ work based learning.
You will be in a patient facing role with the chance to work with a varied number of healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and many more.
After a successful Integrated Training Pilot launched in 2019, Health Education England has decided to continue supporting the Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician scheme.
West Hertfordshire Trust has been selected to train further candidates; with 3 different rotational models.
1: Watford General and St Albans City hospital (6 months at each year 1 and 12 months at Watford General year 2)
2: Watford General and St Albans City hospital (37 weeks) South Hertfordshire community hospital (9 weeks) Hertfordshire ICB care homes rotation (6 weeks) repeated in year 2.
3: Watford General and St Albans City hospital (3 months at each year 1 and 6 months at Watford General year 2) and South Hertfordshire Community Hospital (6 months year 1 and 2)
The post holder will participate in the pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician rotational training programme. The course is provided by the University of East Anglia and consists of online and regional study days (with an option of venues). The on the job training is provided by West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, Central London Community Healthcare Services NHS Trust and NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB.
We are fully committed to your personal development and will give you all the support you need to obtain your professional qualification. We will provide allocated study time, however, you must be willing to commit to significant study in your own time.
On completion of the 2 year programme you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, which will allow you to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC,
