An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager in the Clinical Education Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Our aim is to be the employer of choice for all pre-registration learners when they qualify. The post holder will be the lead for promoting and developing pre-registration experience and retention across Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust As the Practice Education and Placement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s Practice Educator Team and the Placement Hub Team provide a comprehensive, efficient, professional and strategically focused service to, student Nurses, Midwives and AHPs and to newly qualified staff across all divisions to ensure that the Trust achieves its vision and its strategic, organisational and operational priorities The successful postholder will lead on the educational aspects of developing and implementing new clinical roles identified as part of the workforce transformation agenda and ensure that all new clinical professional apprenticeship programmes are explored and implemented as they develop. You will be responsible for leading associated project portfolios, budgets and continuous service improvement initiatives in order to evidence return on investment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the overall Clinical Education Strategy of the Trust. The post holder will be the lead for promoting and developing pre-registration experience and retention across Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust The post holder will be responsible to the Associate Director of Medical and Clinical Education for ensuring that the Trust’s Practice Educators and the Placement Hub Team provide a comprehensive, efficient, professional and strategically focused service to, student Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and to newly qualified staff across all divisions to ensure that the Trust achieves its vision and its strategic, organisational and operational priorities. The post holder will work closely with the Deputy Director of Nursing, Chief AHP and the Trusts divisional management teams to oversee the planning and management of clinical learning and placements across the community and hospital sites as well as being accountable for delivery of the clinical placements. They will lead the Practice Education Facilitator and Placement hub teams and ensure that they provide a quality service to all non-medical students and learners on placement. They will be responsible for ensuring that learning outcomes are met as per the quality standards set by governing bodies for both pre-registration learners and postgraduate clinical students as well as ensuring the preceptorship programme is of a high standard.
