Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the Trust’s exciting Digital Transformation programme. This is a key role within the Trust’s multidisciplinary EPR Transformation Team that will report to the Senior Pharmacy Technician for Clinical Informatics. The postholder will support the optimisation and continued implementation of the Trust’s Cerner Millennium Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system across two acute hospital sites, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and University Hospital in Lewisham. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the EPR Transformation Team and be involved in challenging but rewarding digital transformation that is radically changing the way that healthcare professionals work in all clinical areas. 1. To support the development, implementation and on-going management of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system. 2. To work with the Electronic Prescribing Lead and Senior Pharmacists and the project team in delivering the project outputs. 3. To deliver EPMA training to pharmacy staff and to work with the training team to ensure doctors and nurses are trained appropriately. 4. To support roll-out of the system across both sites at the Trust, including participation in an on-call support system during the implementation phase of the project. 5. To develop super users to continue support after implementation. 6. To take an active role in auditing incidents and risks and bringing these to the attention of the Electronic Prescribing Lead Pharmacist to review. 7. To document and maintain accurate configuration records. 8. To act as a role model and provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with departmental and Trust objectives. 9. To be an expert in the configuration of the EPMA system. 10. To identify and resolve configuration errors and issues by liaising with technical IT colleagues. Applicants should have a desire to promote new ways of working across the Trust and an interest in and enthusiasm for working with technology and digital systems. The successful candidate will work closely with other multidisciplinary teams to improve the adoption and integration of technology in clinical practice. The postholder will be involved in ongoing optimisation and implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Admnistration functionality and the wider EPR system. Excellent communication skills are required as the successful applicant will become a Subject Matter Expert in the system and will be required to communicate complex technical information to a variety of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and pharmacy staff. Similarly, the postholder will need to clearly explain the clinical significance of changes in functionality to the Trust’s technical team. Previous experience of working with electronic prescribing would be valuable but is not essential. However, applicants should have a good understanding of the benefits of using technology to deliver high quality healthcare.
