An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Homecare team to support the expansion of the medicine homecare service. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational skills with a desire to provide a high quality, safe, effective and efficient service to our patients. The successful candidate will work closely within a multidisciplinary team which includes clinical pharmacists, nurses, doctors, clinical homecare lead and the procurement team. The post holder will be based between UCLH hospital sites and B&D Centre at Brewery Road. Key responsibilities will be:
  • To facilitate the supply of medicines to patients receiving their medication via the Homecare Service
  • To be the point of contact for homecare patients, the clinical team and homecare suppliers
  • To ensure suppliers work within the parameters of the National Key Performance Indicators
  • To manage service review meetings with the homecare suppliers
  • To support the administrative duties in processing invoices and resolving invoice queries from homecare suppliers in a timely manner
  • Supporting other clinical homecare areas when required
UCLH Pharmacy provides a comprehensive array of services across all clinical sites of the trust with the overall aim of ensuring safe, effective and economical use of medicines throughout the Trust, and supporting education, training and research. Pharmacy is closely involved in all stages of medicines use, from negotiation of contracts for purchase through to assessment of treatment outcomes in the clinical setting, and at all stages in-between. The pharmacy business & distribution centre based at Brewery Road provides medicines procurement, medicines distribution, homecare administration and pharmacy IT services. The unit purchases in excess of £150m of medicines per year and is licensed by the MHRA as a medicines wholesaler and by the Home Office to supply Controlled Drugs. In addition to provision of medicines to all areas of UCLH, the unit provides services to a number of external customers including other local NHS trusts. The PB&DC team consists of approximately 40 wte staff. UCLH Pharmacy provides a comprehensive array of services with the overall aim of ensuring safe, effective and economical use of medicines throughout the Trust, and supporting education, training and research. Pharmacy is closely involved in all stages of medicines use, from negotiating contracts for the purchase of medicines through to assessing the outcomes of medicines in the clinical setting, and across all stages in-between.
