Full Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacist, with a passion for education and training to join our team. You will lead the provision of clinical pharmacy placements at North Manchester General Hospital, supporting the expansion of placements for undergraduate students from the University of Manchester . In addition you will support education and training within the pharmacy department, and contribute to the provision of clinical pharmacy services. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your own skills and contribute to the development of the future pharmacy workforce. You will be joining our established team of Clinical Tutors at MFT and in addition you will take up an honorary appointment with the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry, University of Manchester. In addition you will form an integral part of the pharmacy team and the wider MDT, working together to provide high quality care to our patients. You must be a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You need to have a post-graduate clinical diploma and a PG Certificate in Education or demonstrable teaching experience. Key to the success of this post will be the expectation that you will work within a coordinated team of clinical tutors and liaise closely with clinical academic staff at the University of Manchester You will receive a comprehensive induction, regular 1:1’s and annual appraisals to develop knowledge and skills where appropriate. You will work alongside the Clinical Tutor team and academic staff at the University to provide hospital placements to all years across the MPharm programme, including reviewing and updating the MPharm curriculum in line with new GPhC guidance. You will be actively involved in undertaking audit and practice research to further develop clinical teaching and support pharmacy undergraduate students with their research projects. Within the pharmacy department you will provide and support the delivery and development of a patient focused clinical pharmacy service, in addition to participating in the department’s weekend working, late night and on call rotas. You will be actively involved in developing and delivering the Education and Training strategy of the MFT pharmacy department including supporting our trainee and rotational pharmacists.
