Full Job Description
Are you a European Qualified Pharmacist working within the EEA? Are you looking for a new permanent position? Would you love to work in the UK?
We are the largest independent pharmacy chain in the UK and the third largest overall, who are focused on delivering the best pharmacy experience on the market. We know that what we do, really matters, and we aim to improve the lives of our patients and customers every day.
To help us fulfil this clear purpose, we are looking for European Qualified Pharmacists to join us at our friendly pharmacies across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Why Well Pharmacy UK?
There’s a lot to discover here at Well Pharmacy that we would love to discuss further with you as well as a wide range of exciting opportunities within a community pharmacy setting.
Well Pharmacy has been helping people look after their health for over 70 years. In that time, the world of pharmacy hasn’t changed much. That’s why we’re changing the way pharmacy works, both in our 760 UK-wide pharmacies, and through our online prescription delivery service, well.co.uk.
This is especially true following the COVID-19 pandemic where the industry has had to change – and change quickly – to accommodate new demands on the NHS and shifting patterns of consumer behaviour.
You’ll be supported in your role by an Area Operations Manager and a Regional Operations Manager, with regular structured pharmacy visits.
We have invested in new technologies for our pharmacies including a new PMR system and centralised dispensing to allow you to focus on providing quality care and services to our customers.
We are focused on mental health and wellbeing which is why we’ve put all our field managers through the Mental Health Awareness course to raise awareness and enable a greater level of support when working in our pharmacies.
So you’ll have much more than just a salary package, its about you as a person and your professional career too!
We know that ‘Together, we make a difference’ and that’s why we’re committed to going the extra mile to make you feel valued, confident and proud to be a part of the ongoing Well success story.
This commitment manifests itself in many ways, including:
- Good scope for promotion and to develop yourself both personally and professionally.
- A positive working environment with supportive colleagues including an area operations manager and a regional operations manager who will be available to guide you and to help you settle into your new role.
- Control over when you work with annualised contracts so you can decide on the hours that best suit your work / life balance.
- The chance to be a part of a company that takes its social and ethical responsibilities seriously.
- An hourly rate of pay of £21.50 during your 8-week conversion programme which then increases to between £25 and £30 afterwards, depending on your chosen location and experience.
- Comprehensive benefits including a bonus scheme, pension, generous holiday entitlements and employee discounts.
- Access to the latest technology such as a new PMR system and centralised dispensing, enabling you to devote more of your time and energy to the provision of high quality service and care to your patients.
- A focus on your mental and physical wellbeing. This includes mental health awareness training to ensure our colleagues are better placed to support each other and their patients.
- Cover the costs of your visa and sponsorship.
- Offer you the opportunity to work at a wide choice of locations across the UK.
- Organise and pay for your accommodation for your first four weeks in the UK.
- Provide a financial assistance package of up to £8000 depending on your chosen location.
- Pay your UK registration fees with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI). You will need to be registered with the relevant organisation before your start date.
- Pay for any screening checks required for you to work as a pharmacist in the UK such as those covered by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) schemes.
- An MPharm degree or equivalent gained in the European Economic Area (EEA).
- To be comfortable providing services to patients including vaccinations.
- A good level of written and spoken English as GPhC registration will include an English language assessment.
- The ability to inspire your team and to drive a continuous learning culture that constantly improves your pharmacy.
- A willingness to share your expertise and a passion for putting your patients first.
- Language training provided
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
