About the store

Specsavers in Haywards Heath first opened its doors in 2004. The store sits in a prominent position on the main high street and is firmly embedded within the local community. The store has a loyal and growing customer base, they have seen a significant increase in performance over the past 12 months, attributed by the shift in consumer trends. Being so close and well linked to London, Haywards Heath is an established commuter town, however the change in their customers work and life patterns such as working from home and less traveling to and from London has provided an opportunity for the store to increase their target audience and market share. By embedding in their local community, the business has achieved 9% sales growth in the last year alone, ATV is up 17% and conversion has increased by 13% to over 73%!

The store underwent an impressive refit in 2019, and now boasts 4 test rooms (1 of which is dual) – all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT – meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards. We offer enhanced clinical services including EOS and MECS to the private sector: Specsavers in Haywards Heath, have a clear-sighted vision to transform eye health in their community.

A team of 14 dedicated and passionate colleagues, including a resident Optometrist, call this store home. With a Pre-Reg due to start this year, the existing Partners are really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

Requirements of the role

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
