About the Store
Uttoxeter first opened its doors in 2004, and is ideally situated on the main high street, adjacent from the multi storey car park, hence ensuring high visibility and footfall. The store itself operates with 5 test rooms, one fully kitted with sound booth and offers audiology services 3 days a week as a spoke store to Chelmsley Wood. There is a dedicated retail team of 12, including a store manager, who joined the store as an apprentice and worked her way up with the support of the partners to develop into the to store manager. Progression is key instore, with many of the team being multiskilled and confident working on either the shop floor or the lab. The current clinical team includes both full and part time Optoms, CLO, and pre reg. The clinical team are also multi skilled and able to cover additional clinics and step in to help as and when required.
Training and development are fully supported in Uttoxeter, with a 4 Dispensing Opticians trained and qualified internally, as well as 8 Pre-Reg Optoms. Regular recruitment of Apprentices is also a key area within the business too.
Location
Uttoxeter is a highly affluent, pretty market town located close to the Peak District National Park, and less than an hour away from some fantastic cities to include Derby, Nottingham and Stoke On Trent.
The town is currently part of several large housing development that are currently in progress, along with improvements to the A50. 1000 new homes were built back in 2015, and due to the success and growth the area has seen in this time, a further 1000 houses are currently in construction.
Specsavers Uttoxeter benefits from a separate non retail unit consisting of two floors across the street, where the lab, call centre, staff kitchen, and wellness room are located.
