About the store
Specsavers in Carlisle first opened its doors in 1992. The store sits in a prominent position on Castle street and is firmly embedded within the local community. The loyal and growing customer base includes the local community in addition to significant passing trade from all walks of life.

A large dedicated and passionate team call this store home. In place you will find a strong management structure, with a DO, Retail and Clinical manager already in place. The existing Partner is passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

The store is located in Carlisle, which is a small city has the feel of a market town. The store itself has 3 funded parking spaces, a train station just 5 minutes away there are excellent bus services to all localities. It is commutable from the Lake District and is on the main west coast line between Glasgow and London and has easy access to Newcastle upon Tyne. There’s something in Carlisle for everyone: you could go shopping and enjoy local restaurants, or steep yourself in history with a visit to Hadrian’s wall and Carlisle Castle. Requirements of the Role
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re looking for someone who wants to grow and develop the team, offer exceptional customer care and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themself on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and someone who is keen to get involved and build a rapport with their team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled Optometry professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
