I have just taken a vacancy for a practice with a strong reputation for staff retention, quality of service, and customer satisfaction, with many of the team, that have been loyal for over 15 years.

The directors have 36 years between them, with an experienced optometrist and a retail background.

They now require an experienced Optometrist to join their well-established team of approximately 40 between two of their stores in well-positioned locations.
Successful applicants will be expected to work in both stores on a rota basis.

Optometrist Position

The practices are well equipped and provide the ideal environment in which the people at the heart of the business can continually learn and develop their skills to reach their full potential.

The Directors are professionally driven and have ambitious plans to continuously grow the business and is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Optometrist, with a long-term outlook, to help shape the business and join a purpose-led team that puts its patients at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

You will be responsible for delivering the best possible care to all their patients and work closely as part of a strong team. The company’s goal is to deliver outstanding patient care, combined with sound dispensing advice and product recommendations that best suit individual customer needs. In addition, they aim to provide both their colleagues and customers with an overall excellent environment.
Ideally, you will be MECs accredited and happy to take on responsibility of pre-reg supervision.
They offer extended services such as Med-Ret, Pre & Post Cats & Repeat Reading Scheme (Glaucoma).
You will be responsible for contact lens fitting, aftercare advice, maintaining accurate patient records, and keeping up to date with product and professional knowledge to conduct a thorough sight test offering your expert opinion and making recommendations. You will be on hand to answer any difficult questions and share your clinical knowledge with patients and the team.

Requirements of the Optometrist

You will have a patient-centred approach along with the ability to work well in a team. Additionally, you will have a successful career to date and be able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, and clinical expertise.

Ideally, you will be able to do pre-reg supervision although they can consider newly qualified, salary levels DOE.

The role is for 5 days and there is a weekend working with one or other day per week.

Compensation for the Optometrist

A competitive basic salary of up to £60,000 is on offer along with additional benefits such as professional fees are paid, and a medical health package is available. You will be joining a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
