A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for an Optometrist in the Essex area, in Harwich (close to Colchester) to join a high-end, well-established, family-run, group of independent opticians.

They have a number of practices all over the Essex/ East of England area, all with an outstanding reputation for designer products, modern high-end looking practices and an outstanding first-class patient focussed service that is guaranteed in each and every one of their practices.

Optometrist role

Join a company that measures their success by the relationships built with their teams and patients, not on how many targets you are reaching.
They examine every 40/60 minutes, with complete professional freedom.
Encourage staff to discuss interesting /challenging patients with each other and take personal development very seriously.
All practices are well equipped with OCTs some OCTAs and Humphreys Field analysers.
You will receive the appropriate training if required, and you will work with extremely well-trained support staff, including qualified dispensing opticians.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Optometrist, open to newly qualified through to the more experienced Optometrist.
What’s important, is your ability to build rapport and converse with patients as pride themselves on excellent customer care.
40-60-minute testing slots to provide an excellent first-class service to your patients, you will be working with all the latest equipment as previously mentioned in a relaxed calm environment surrounded by a close-knit friendly team.

Requirements of the Optometrist

” Must be GOC registered
” Open to newly qualified or experienced
” You will be a team player – happy to come out of the test room when needed to dispense and offer advice to patients
” A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
” A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optometrist

For your efforts a competitive package is on offer;
” Salary ranging from £42,000 to £69,000 depending on experience
” 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays (Bank Holidays are closed)
” Sociable hours with no Sundays or late nights
” Free parking either at the practice or nearby
” In house CET training
” Flexibility on working weekends
” You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
” Practice hours are 9:00-5:30 Monday to Friday and 9:00-5:00 on Saturdays – 37.5 hours to include Saturdays, no Sundays or Bank holidays
