Company description We have an exciting opportunity for an Optical Assistant/ Receptionist in this brand new eye practice. This is a health care environment and you’ll be working with friendly and supportive staff. We’re looking for someone who has previous optical experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant – however we’ll continue to help develop and expand your knowledge. The role will suit someone who would like to provide excellent care and support in a varied role with activities ranging from-
  • Welcoming patients,
  • Listening to patients, and giving good clear advice, explaining suitable products.
  • Providing good customer care and applying our own high standards
  • Booking appointments,
  • Taking phone calls,
  • Pre screening patients,
  • Dispensing of lenses (single vision / bi-focal & varifocal)
  • Assisting patients with choosing eyeglasses
  • Take measurements and support patients with collections
  • Support and supervise junior staff
  • Some admin tasks,
  • and assisting in the smooth running of the daily clinics.

Other requirements:
  • Previous experience in an Optical assistant/ Receptionist role is necessary.
  • Individuals with at least GCSE Maths and English at Grade 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent level qualification.
  • Right to work in the UK.
This position is based in Dartford, Kent.
