Optical Practice Manager

This large, well established and well known Opticians, with a presence in nearly every town and city in the country are now looking to add an Optical Practice Manager to their team in the Portsmouth area.

Optical Practice Manager Position

As the Optical Practice Manager, you will be the driving force of the business, leading by example and inspiring staff. You will help to lead a busy team of 25 people on a daily basis in a large-sized practice.

” They are ideally looking for a Qualified Dispensing Optician that has managed a busy practice.
” Looking after 25 staff in a 4-test room practice.
” Experienced and well-established team – to the point where Director has quoted “the best team we have had in years” and “easy to manage”.
” Needs to be a good people-person, problems solver and be able to drive the business.
” Basic salary up to £30,000.
” Bonus scheme – currently worth £400-500 per month.
” Fees paid.
” 5 weeks holiday.
” 40 hour contract – 9:30-5:30 M-F, 8:30-5:30 on Sat, 10-4:30 on Sun.

Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager

Your role will be to help lead the team from the front. You will be on the shop floor making sales and coaching your teams and ensuring customer service standards are maintained. You will occasionally be involved in all-optical duties such as dispensing but primarily be offering advice, managing staff, troubleshooting, rota management, KPI’s, P&L, and dealing with all of the day to day duties.

Requirements of the Optical Practice Manager

Ideally you will be a GOC registered Dispensing Optician
You must have over 3 years of experience as a manager and be comfortable in a senior role with full autonomy in the role as the Director will rarely be available to assist on a day-to-day basis.
You will have a confident and upbeat personality with a strong people and management skillset along with a willingness to succeed.
You will be ambitious and hardworking and willing to take on additional responsibilities.

Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager

For your efforts, a competitive salary of up to £30,000 depending on your experience is on offer, along with a bonus scheme plus 33 days holiday. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
