Optical Lab Technician

Are you an experienced Optical Lab Technician looking for a new role with a busy practice, brand new equipment and a great work environment? Look no more

I am currently working with a large, busy multiple in optics who are in need of an experienced Optical Lab Technician, you will be used to a busy, fast-paced environment as this practice currently does around 650 jobs per week and are looking to increase this, you will be supported by an experienced Lab Technician and shopfloor support helping you on a day to day basis, where you will both work together in a close-knit team.

Successful candidates will be joining a hardworking, productive team in practice, who have a great reputation in the local community. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who can competently glaze and is happy working to individual and team targets.

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician

The role will entail glazing to all levels including rimless
Looking after stock and ordering when needed
Managing remakes
Monitoring wastage
Looking after and maintaining equipment
Liaising with dispensing team regarding orders and collections
Dealing with clients on the phone

Requirements of the Lab Technician

At least 2 years of experience as a Lab Technician ideally within a busy lab.
Used to and comfortable with glazing a high level of jobs (currently doing around 650 a week)
The ability to glaze to all levels (rimless training can be available if nor previous experience)
A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Compensation for the Lab Technician

For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience is on offer along with a strong bonus scheme (Approx £2,500 per year) and additional benefits. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
