Optical Assistant / Frame Stylist

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Optical Assistant or qualified Dispensing Optician to become a part of a successful independent practice near Newcastle County Down, on a full or part time basis. If you are an experienced Optical Assistant looking to take your career to the next level or a trainee looking to make a start in Optics, then this is an opportunity not to miss out on. Previous optical experience is useful but full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills, a keen eye for fashion and a conscientious ammer will be beneficial for applicants. An Optical Assistant helps Practice Managers, Dispensing Opticians and Optometrists provide patient care and, with training, assists Patients in choosing lenses and frames based on their needs and Optometrist recommendations. Your daily routine could vary quite a lot with our range of patient needs and with the various activities needed for a successful high street business. You might be helping maintain the appointment diary, welcoming patients, taking recommendations from an Optometrist, helping patients choose frames and lenses, teaching patients about handling contact lenses, making sure that patient and business records are properly kept, or looking after the presentation of the practice and the display of frames. Overall it’s a busy, worthwhile day, helping people see clearly and choose the right frames and lenses for them. You will be based within a well-established independent practice that is fitted with the most up to date optical equipment.
