Optical Assistant

Optical Assistant (No Previous Experience Required) Become part of the team at Caboodle Eyecare (formerly Abrahams Opticians), Glasgow. We are recruiting for a full or part time Optical Assistant at our Easterhouse practice in Glasgow. The role includes diary management, general administration duties, pre-testing, general spectacle dispensing and any other duties required in the running of the practice. Some of the tasks include:

• Providing patients with help and advice about our products – glasses, contact lenses etc.
• Dispensing spectacle lenses (single vision/bi-focal/varifocal)
• Carrying out pre-screening examinations and other support roles to ensure successful eye clinics
• Taking measurements and supporting patients with collections; checking fit, comfort & accuracy of frames thoroughly

Ideally, you’ll be: · A great team player · Highly organised and great at splitting up tasks into small manageable chunks · Keen on keeping the environment clean and tidy · Enthusiastic with lots of energy to care about our patients and their well being · Happy to phone and chat with our patients, booking appointments (diary management) and dealing with queries · Computer literate · Confident working with numbers · Have a good standard of written English Ideally, you’ll have some customer facing experience and be a passionate and enthusiastic individual who cares about people. Whilst previous optical experience would help, it is not essential. This is a permanent position. Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9.00am to 5pm, working 5 full days of 7.5 hours. A competitive salary.
