Optical Advisor Vacancy – Optical Advisor Would you like to join our small, but dedicated team at the best opticians in town? We now have a vacancy for an efficient and friendly member of staff looking to work with market leading brands. We are a company with a clear emphasis on quality of service to our patients In the first instance the position is full time and includes Saturdays although part time for experienced candidates may be considered. Previous optical sales experience is preferable but not essential for this position. Candidates without this experience would need to be able demonstrate comparable skills. Tasks and responsibilities
  • Answering telephone, screen and direct calls appropriately
  • Provide information to telephone enquirers
  • Meet and greet patients in the practice
  • Deal with queries from patients, organisations and companies
  • Administration and clerical support
  • Preparing letters and optical documentation
  • Schedule appointments for patients
  • Giving advice within your level of knowledge
  • Spectacle dispensing
  • Tidy and maintain reception, frame, consulting and staff areas
  • Work to specified company, NHS and associated organisations rules and guidelines
  • Filing of records and product ordering
  • Taking payments, reconciliation and cash handling
  • Minor spectacle repairs
  • Spectacle fitting and adjustments
Upon completion of training your duties could expand to include
  • Spectacle manufacture at our in-practice ophthalmic laboratory
