A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Optical Assistant to join a brand new practice in South Birmingham. They have an experienced Optical team in place and they are looking to add a personable and enthusiastic optical assistant to their team.

Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Optical Assistant to join this practice in South Birmingham. They are looking for someone who can really offer outstanding customer service and be prepared to go above and beyond for both patients and colleagues. You must have a real passion for optics, with a bubbly and exciting personality.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on their options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and help with the smooth running of the practice. Their aim is to continually improve the quality of services offered to their customers through staff training.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with previous optical experience and the ability to dispense glasses to all levels. You will have a friendly and personable demeanour with a strong personal work ethic. It’s essential you have a customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts, a competitive salary of £22,000 is on offer. You will need to be flexible to work weekends and at least one late night until 7pm.
