Optical Assistant Position

A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer-focused Optical Assistant to join their practice based in Bolton. They have an experienced Optical Manager and an Optometrist in place and they are looking to add a personable and enthusiastic optical assistant to their team. As a brand new business, you will spend your first couple of weeks in training before working in the branch.

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant

The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches. You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on their options. Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and help with the smooth running of the practice. Their aim is to continually improve the quality of services offered to their customers through staff training.

Requirements of the Optical Assistant

My client is looking for applicants with previous optical experience and the ability to dispense glasses to all levels. You will have a friendly and personable demeanour with a strong personal work ethic. It’s essential you have a customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optical Assistant

For your efforts, a competitive salary of £20,000 is on offer plus bonus and staff discounts. You will need to be flexible to work weekends and late nights. You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
