Lead Veterinary Surgeon (Multi-Vet)

Village Vet has a new fantastic opportunity for a full-time Lead Veterinary Surgeon to work independently and alongside other highly experienced Veterinary Surgeons at our Longstanton multi-vet practice in Cambridgeshire. You will also be supported by a team of Nurses, Pet Care Assistants (PCA), and Receptionists along with a highly experienced Village Vet central office team. We have a very friendly team who genuinely want to do the right thing for each other, the client, and the patients. Our practice is exceptionally tidy and well-organised. We are very fortunate to have wonderful longstanding clients and with brand new developments in the area the practice has so much potential for growth. The Lead Veterinary Surgeon is responsible for managing the clinical activities of the Vets and acts as the first line of management, developing the team to optimise the uptake of clinical services. The Lead Veterinary Surgeon is to support and work closely with and assist the Clinical Director to provide leadership, coordination, ensure adequate cover for shifts, appropriate training and development to their team and when not deputising to undertake duties of a vet. They also need to take part in the day-to-day organisation of the team and respond to requests for unplanned absence cover. Our Longstanton practice has been an important part of the community for many years. Our vets have a wealth of experience between them, dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and offering a highly professional and personalised service to all of our clients. They offer a wide range of primary care services in practice including vet and nurse consultations, behavioural advice, imaging with our digital x-ray, top-of-the-range ultrasound machine, and perform a range of elective and more complex surgical procedures on-site. Should our patients require 24-hour care, we have the support of our two dedicated 24/7 hospitals in Cambridge available to us. Responsibilities
