This post is a limited term appointment for 12 months. About the role and our team Join our supportive, welcoming team as Lead Pharmacist for Vaccination Programmes. In this role you will provide leadership and support to the Pharmacy Department, the Integrated Medicines Optimisation Group (a joint primary and secondary care prescribing committee) and other departments within Manx Care and the wider health community in the planning and delivery of vaccine services across the Isle of Man. Some of your key duties will include:
  • Working with Public Health (IOM) and Manx Care to horizon scan, cost and operationalise the delivery of vaccine services
  • Providing support to Public Health (IOM) in liaising with UK and Crown Dependency counterparts to understand national and international implications of new vaccine challenges
  • Working alongside the Prescribing Advisor, Chief Pharmacist and Finance team in the Budget Transfer process, ensuring that the budget for all vaccine programmes are costed and directed appropriately
  • Co-ordinating the range of vaccine programmes and reporting in to Public Health (IOM) and Manx Care
This is a unique role which will provide you with the opportunity to develop the role and the relationships required across Manx Care and the UK. It will require a high level of clinical knowledge and the ability to work and plan strategically. This role offers you the flexibility to undertake the majority of the work at a time of your choosing, and most can be facilitated from home or the office, however there may be requirements to attend specific meetings, MDT or receipt of specialist vaccines. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge as the vaccination programmes evolve and specialist advice and research becomes available.
