Experienced Optical Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an individual with previous experience in optics to join us at our SPECSAVERS store in WIGAN as an Optical Assistant. We have opportunities for full and part time positions, from 7.5 hours up to 42.5 hours a week (and everything in between!) We have a performance related pay system in place, with targets to work towards as well as a substantial team bonus and the opportunity to boost this bonus based on individual performance. As an Optical Assistant, you’ll make sure every customer gets a great experience when they come into our store. It means listening to what they want, providing exceptional clinical advice and dispensing lenses. You’ll work to NHS guidelines (as well as our own high standards), explain our current offers and promotions and make a positive impression, thanks to your polite and professional approach. In return we’ll continue to develop and expand your knowledge. With many of our current directors and managers beginning their career within Specsavers as an Optical Assistant, your career progression is endless. You’ll have the chance to develop clinically through our in-house ABDO recognised dispensing courses that could lead to Dispensing Optician, or alternatively there are opportunities in other areas of the business such as training, management and hearing.
