Full Job Description

Full Time and Part Time Dental Receptionist/Administrator A new vacancy has become available for a full time receptionist/administrator to join our Dental Practice in Pangbourne. The successful candidate will need to provide a friendly, efficient and supportive service to our patients whilst being responsible and accountable for providing full administrative assistance to our dentists and their dental nurses. We will also consider applications for part time hours to include Saturdays. As the first point of contact you will be the face of the dental practice and as such will be required to deal with all booking in and appointment arrangements, resolving queries and following up to ensure that our patients are communicated with to ensure they have a positive experience. Ensuring compliance with all ethical guidelines, practice protocol and operating procedures and maintaining the practice’s high customer service standards. Day to day activities will include: o Booking appointments, and updating our internal systems with relevant information, ensuring reminders for appointments are sent in line with internal protocols o Patient hosting, ensuring everyone who attends the practice has all the information they require and dealing with any access issues in a sensitive and dignified manner o Work closely with the dentist and dental nurses you are allocated to as a close-knit team to provide administrative support and to ensure the referral procedures and paperwork trails are complete and up to date o Maintain the patient record and appointment system following practice protocol and procedures, reminding patients about their appointments, following the practice re-call protocol and procedure. o Assist with the training and induction of others that join the practice o Working as a team member to ensure that the practice reception runs smoothly, assisting colleagues as and when required, and feeding back constructive comments from our patients to the practice manager as and when appropriate o Ensure the waiting areas are clean and tidy and adhere to our health and safety responsibilities o Maintaining the retail sales, including stock control and any associated admin relating to orders, liaising with the Finance Manager in order that accurate records are maintained o Ensure that petty cash records are up to date and that the cashing up procedures are completed at the end of the day, reporting any imbalances to the Finance Manager o To assist with the monitoring of patient debt and assist with appropriate debt recovery in a sensitive and appropriate manner Experience/qualifications required: o Excellent telephone manner o Organised, and able to prioritise tasks o Attention to detail o Computer literate o Team player o Good written and verbal communication skills Salary will depend on experience.
