Following a refresh of our Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation Directorate operating model, this new post (one of four Clinical Group Associate Chief Pharmacists) has been created to lead pharmacy and medicines optimisation services across the diverse portfolio of specialities within the Trust’s Integrated and Specialist Medicine (ISM) Clinical Group.
The post-holder will take strategic and operational responsibility for pharmacy and medicines optimisation services delivered to patients across a broad range of both acute and community specialties. This will include leadership, evaluation and assurance of services delivered by a large and highly dedicated team of pharmacy professionals across:
- Integrated Local Services
- Acute and General Medicine
- Medical Specialties
- Specialist Ambulatory Services
- Clinical Imaging and Medical Physics
- Dental Services
- Strategic leadership of pharmacy services within Integrated and Specialist Medicine (ISM) Clinical Group, including services delivered within South East London ICS.
- Develop, agree and implement a 3 – 5-year business plan for ISM Pharmacy service.
- Lead on all aspects of clinical pharmacy services within ISM (including community services) through the senior team.
- Ensure the Pharmacy service remains responsive to the needs of patients, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.
- Responsible for pay and non-pay budget for ISM Pharmacy service and other areas of direct responsibility
- Delivery of the medicine management component of clinical governance within ISM.
- Direct management of the senior ISM Pharmacy team and, through them, for all staff within the ISM Pharmacy service.
- Influence and contribute to overall Directorate strategy and operational leadership as required.
- Lead the Trust Clinical Residency service to ensure there is appropriate 24-hour pharmacy provision within the Trust.
- Deliver an agreed work-plan to deliver Trust and ICB priorities for population health, including projects designed to reduce health care inequalities through use of and access to medicines.
- Influence and clinically support the implementation of a new integrated Electronic Health Record (Epic)
