Apprentice Assessor

Do you like creating future game changers? We’re looking for an apprentice assessor to join our people and culture team to support our apprentices across the business to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours as they work towards their level 2 optical retail standard.

What can you expect from the role?

In this role, you’ll be an ambassador for Vision Express by promoting our culture and values, whilst playing a key role for our apprentices, supporting their ongoing learning and development.
We’ll look to you to provide support, action plans and feedback on performance and to observe, assess and sign off the apprentice learning with supported evidence.

Rated good by Ofsted, you’ll be joining a team of passionate assessors to support the growth of our apprenticeship programme. The beauty of this role is no two days are ever the same, from keeping up to date records and progress reports to taking part in the annual self-assessment process. We’ll look to you to work closely with our store management network and work collaboratively with your quality lead to ensure the highest level of quality assurance across our programme. The role is field based and you will spend your time visiting stores, running virtual training and coaching your stakeholders and apprentices through the programme.

At Vision Express we win together, so all our colleagues have a role to play in making our customers and colleagues feel special. It’s up to you to bring our brand to life and be involved in shaping our success.

You can expect a busy but high achieving environment with a purpose, culture, and values to match, where everyone is working towards the same goal: creating joy in vision for our colleagues and customers.

About you

We’re looking for candidates with previous experience of working autonomously and using your initiative to support key stakeholders. Previous experience as an apprentice assessor isn’t essential, but we’d look to you to have a strong retail background.

Due to the nature of the role, we’re looking for someone who will enjoy being field based with occasional days spent at the support office, so a full UK driving license is essential.

We know you matter and that is why it is our commitment to make this a job you enjoy by recognising your achievements and encouraging you to be involved in shaping our success. Our game changing leaders will support your career with excellent training and development opportunities. There are limitless horizons, whether that be professionally or into management.
