Animal Health Technician
Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Surrey, KT9 2NE
Hours: Permanent, part time, 24 hours per week (equivalent to 3 days out of 7). There is flexibility in the shift patterns but must include Mondays.

We’re currently looking for an Animal Health Technician to join our Zoo team at Britain’s Wildest Adventure!
About the Role
You will support in upholding the zoo’s objectives in ensuring outstanding animal healthcare, meeting and exceeding industry standards in record keeping, upholding the health and safety of co-workers and guests and communicating effectively with all partners.
As a member of our Zoo team, you will be responsible for upholding our exceptional animal health and welfare standards by providing administrative and technical support to the smooth operation of our Animal Health Centre. This will include assisting any visiting veterinary surgeon during routine or emergency rounds, overseeing the administration of POMs and controlled drugs, cleanliness and hygiene of the facilities and equipment and the effective communication between Zoo Managers, Keepers and Vets of all clinically relevant information.
Reporting directly to the Zoo Collection Manager you will be required to work alongside section supervisors and the wider zoo team with occasional supervision of work-experience students and interns.
What we’re looking for
- Exceptional time-management and organisational skills
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with ZIMS or ZIMS Medical would be an advantage)
- Experience in a zoo environment would be advantageous
- Vet nursing experience or appropriate qualification is desirable
