The IDA Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting person-centered care in audiology, has announced that it will be scaling down its operations as funding from the Oticon Foundation comes to an end.

The IDA Institute has been instrumental in driving innovation and progress in the field of audiology by developing tools and resources that promote patient engagement and empowerment. Their work has been recognized globally, with practitioners from all over the world using their tools to improve patient care.

Despite their successes, the IDA Institute’s future is uncertain due to the loss of funding. The organization has stated that it will be reducing its workforce and focusing on completing ongoing projects before closing its doors for good.

This news is a significant blow for the audiology community, which has benefited greatly from the IDA Institute’s work over the years. It highlights the importance of securing funding for organizations that promote person-centered care and innovation in healthcare.

However, despite this setback, we must continue to prioritize patient-centered care in audiology. By putting patients at the center of our practice and embracing innovative tools and resources, we can ensure that individuals with hearing loss receive the best possible care.

We thank the IDA Institute for their contributions to our field and wish them all the best as they navigate this challenging time.
