The Role
We are currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, forward-thinking team at Biscot Mill Vet Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire. This is a 50:50 consulting and surgery role. We are looking for a full time vet to join our team; however, we are flexible and open to negotiation so we encourage part-time applicants to apply! There is a share in the Saturday morning rota; currently, 1 in 3. We only open 9am-12pm on Saturdays; along with no Sundays, Bank Holidays, and no OOHs so there is plenty of time to enjoy the weekend and achieve that important work-life balance!! The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of 3 or 4 other Veterinary Surgeons in a one-site practice.Salary
The salary for this role is up to £65,000 depending on experience.About Us
We are a busy small animal town practice, with a caring attitude and pride in what we do well. We are particularly keen on pain management and local anaesthesia techniques and are happy to share this with any future colleagues! We have recently invested in dental x-ray and a new dental suite, alongside the usual gadgets such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonopen, multiparameter monitoring equipment, bair huggers and blood pressure machines. Being in Luton we are close to the airport and fast links to London and motorways. We have a wide range of clients and aim to offer flexible treatment options for all budgets. We have a surgery certificate holder and are happy to support personal development. We do a lot of work with Cats Protection and support their neutering scheme, as well as other local cat charities.About the Team and Culture
We currently have 4 Veterinary Surgeons working a mixture of full-time and part-time, including one who holds a PgC in small animal surgery. All our Veterinary Surgeons are superbly supported by a team of 2 (soon to be 3) Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and 2 Veterinary Care Assistants. Our new team member will be supported, and in turn support other members of the team, promoting wellbeing and a positive work environment.Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate must have a current MRCVS registration. We welcome applications from certificate holders and candidates with all levels of experience. Additional qualifications are a bonus and salary would reflect this. Our ideal candidate will be a team player as the wellbeing of our team is very important to us and someone who enjoys a mix of surgery and consultation time.Because our employee’s matter
